I’m just going to bore everyone. Everything I want to write about has already been written by more experienced people than me!
Everyone and I mean EVERYONE get imposter syndrome. If you have any thoughts about what you write being “not good enough”, I’m here to tell you IT IS.
Do you know what being an expert is? Knowing the most about something in an average room full of people. So, ask yourself, do you know more about your business than an average room full of people. I hope everyone is going YES!!
So, if you’re an expert, what you have to say is valuable!
What you have to say IS valuable!
I thought it bared repeating! You know more than the average person about your service / product. That means there are people out there who want your knowledge. Give it to them.
Maybe you are just the person they have been looking for! Maybe your point of view and way of explaining is just what they needed to understand. You don’t know who you could help!
But what if no body reads it, what’s the point?
As with every new endeavour, it takes time to get people interested. It is likely that only a few people will read your first blogs when you post them. But with them being on the internet, they are there forever. People will read them!
Also, it’s not just about real people reading your blogs – Google will be seeing them. They will all be adding up to increasing your Google ranking.
Different types of blogs
You don’t always have to write the same types of blogs. If “how to guides” just aren’t your thing, or technical blogs don’t work with your business, there are loads of other types.
• Story Blogs
• Promotional Blogs
• Testimonial Blogs
• Product / Service Review Blogs
• Guest Blogs
• Technical Blogs
• Tutorial Blog
• “How To” Blog
I would definitely recommend mixing it up. The way that me and my clients do it is, every month I have a set pattern of the types of blogs I’m going to write.
Week one is a story blog
Week two is a testimonial blog
Week three is a story blog (you can’t have too many story blogs, they usually get the best engagement)
Week four is a “how to” blog.
Why is having a set pattern for your blog types good?
It just makes it a lot easier for me to plan my blogs. Also, my followers know what to expect from me. This doesn’t mean that I ALWAYS stick to the set pattern. If something is going on in the world that makes it beneficial to do all story blogs or all “how to guides” that’s what I will do. However, most of the time I do still to the plan.
