I don’t have time to blog every week / month. I’m lucky if I blog twice a year! Can you help me blog regularly?

Yes! I’m all about leveraging your time, doing something once and using it as many times as you can.

Planning your blogs

The first step is to plan your blogs. There are a few reasons for planning.

1. You are more likely to write your blogs if when you sit down you know what you are going to write about. The biggest hurdle to my clients blogging is that they don’t know what to write about. Well with a plan that won’t be a problem anymore!

2. You can structure your content. You will have a theme for each month, which you will write 4 blogs about. By your month having a theme your message for that month is much more targeted and more likely to get in front of the right people. It takes between 12 and 24 time of someone seeing your message online before they will take action. By having a similar message for the month this is more impactful, rather than using a “scatter gun” method and hoping something sticks.

3. It takes less time! By having a plan, me and my clients, on average take 2 hours per month to write all our blog content. And guess what? We also have our social media and newsletters written as well. I told you I’m all about leveraging your time! Your newsletter can be copied word for word from your blog. You don’t need to worry about duplicated content – your newsletters aren’t stored online anywhere. My social media posts are snippets taken from my blogs. Again, only snippets are taken and then maybe expanded on – so no duplicate content.

Consistency IS The Key To Blogging

Next to actually writing your blogs, being consistent is the next most important thing about blogging. However often you choose to blog, once a week, once a month or something in between, STICK TO IT.

It takes Google around 6 weeks to index the parts of the internet it wants to. If it can consistently predict that you will have new, relevant content on your website to index it will! If not, you may be passed by. Google wants to put people in front of the most relevant up-to-date information. Make that be YOU.

It’s as simple as: if Google can predict you will put out new, relevant content you will move higher in the Google rankings.

But its such a hassle to post a blog every week

There is NO WAY I’m going to ask you to make sure you sit down every Monday morning to write your weekly blog post then upload it to your website!

I don’t do that for my clients, and I certainly don’t do that for myself!

What I’m suggesting you do is once you have planned out your blogs, you sit down once a month and write the four blogs in one go. After a few months it should take you around 2 hours to do this! Then upload all the blogs to your website it one go – BUT schedule the dates the blogs go live. This way you can have your 4 blogs go out on the same time each week without you actually being there to publish them.
