Hello, my merry band of misfits! This week’s blog – Business Envy

Okay I know, “comparison is the thief of joy” but we all do it, I know we do! The problem is, someone is always (in our eyes) doing better than us.

The motto I’ve adopted for my Dressing Gown Guild (Facebook group) is – happiness is fleeting, strive for contentment. I did this because I know that being content with your life and what you have accomplished is, in my opinion, the way to being truly happy. But it’s a hard one to always achieve.

If you’re in business you usually have some type of ambition, I know I do! It’s almost a physical pain, the drive I have to help business owners get the most out of their websites. Does your business affect you this way? How driven are you?

Business Envy – How driven are you?

I have to be careful to not let my passion for my business get in the way of everything else in my life! Including sleep. Most people think my work schedule is insane, but it works for me and my family. I tend to work from 19:00 till 03:00 – I am very much a night owl. Then I do my phone calls, meetings and day to day stuff during the day whilst I get to hang out with my two year old. No, I’m not a super woman my husband gets him up everyday and I do take an afternoon nap, so if you can’t get me between 14:00 and 16:00 you now know why and if you do get me then, your privileged!! 😊

Do any of you hate the normal 09:00 -17:00 hours, I don’t know why it bothers be so much to work those hours. I know they are supposed to be the most productive, but I find it a lot easier to work when no one is around!

I just love that I get to choose what I do with my time and when, so I guess it doesn’t matter how much I compare my business to someone else’s, in the end I guess I am very content!
